Trump congratulates Babiš on return as Czech prime minister

US President Donald Trump has congratulated Andrej Babiš on his appointment as Czech prime minister. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he expects close cooperation with Babiš, especially on defense, energy and illegal immigration.

“It is great to see Andrej Babiš appointed again as prime minister,” Trump wrote, adding that they achieved “great success” together during their previous terms. He also said he expects “incredible things,” including cooperation on F-35 fighter jets.

President Petr Pavel appointed Babiš’s government on Monday. Babiš returns to office after four years, having previously served as prime minister from 2017 to 2021.
