Transfer of Czech coronavirus patients to Germany gets green light

It will now be possible to transfer some patients with the COVID-19 coronavirus from Czechia to German hospitals, the Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region Petr Kulhánek said on Tuesday.

The decision comes after an earlier appeal from the chief hospital bed coordinator, Vladimír Černý, to Health Minister Jan Blatný to accept Germany’s offer to help alleviate the current burden on the Czech health system, which is struggling to keep up with the high number of hopsitalisations. The German state of Saxony has offered nine of its beds for this purpose.
