Tram parade marks 130 years since first tram rode through Prague

A tram parade passed through the streets of Prague on Sunday, marking 130 years since the first electric tram went into operation in the Czech lands.  All the tram types that travelled in Prague during the years of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the First Republic, WWII, the communist years, right up to the present, were represented, travelling through the metropolis and taking passengers. Fans lined the route from Prague Castle through the center to Letná, and about 400 enthusiasts were lucky enough to board them. The event was organized by a Prague Transport Company.  The first electric tram rode through Prague on July 18, 1891.
