Train crash near Milavče leaves three dead and five critically injured

Three people died and five were critically injured in a railway accident that occurred near Milavče in Western Bohemia on Wednesday morning. Around 30 passengers suffered light injuries.

An express train from Munich collided with a commuter passenger train after one of the drivers had ignored a red light,  Plzeň region rescue service spokesperson said. Both train drivers were killed in the accident.

Czech Railway officials expect it will take hours or even days to repair the track. Alternative bus transports are being organised in the meantime.
