Trade surplus in June amounted to 26.3 billion crowns, helped by car industry

Czechia’s foreign trade ended in a surplus of 26.3 billion crowns in June, which was 4.2 billion lower year-on-year, according to preliminary data published on Wednesday by the Czech Statistical Office. The overall balance was positively affected by a higher surplus in trade in cars and other means of transport, while a lower surplus in trade in metal products had a negative impact.

Imports grew faster than exports in June. Exports from Czechia increased by 7.4% to 416.1 billion crowns compared with last June, while imports into the country increased by 9.2% to 389.8 billion crowns.
