Towns and villages across Czechia bracing for possible floods
Towns and villages in the east and north of the country are bracing themselves for potential flooding due to the heavy rains predicted for the next few days.
Some municipalities, including Velké Meziříčí in the Vysočina Region, started erecting flood barriers. Many events planned for the weekend have been cancelled.
The Morava and Vltava River authorities said on Wednesday they had started releasing water from selected reservoirs to increase the capacities for the incoming flow of water.
