Tourists back at Pravčice Gate, months after major forest fire

Tourists have begun returning to the Pravčice Gate sandstone bridge, two months after a major fire hit the Czech Switzerland National Park in the north of the country. Hundreds of Czechs and foreigners visited the popular site on Saturday, following its official reopening.

In addition a bar on entering the national park at night has been lifted, while a popular pathway has also been reopened.

The fire was the worst of its kind seen in the independent Czechia. It broke out in late July and caused smoke that could be seen in many parts of the country.
