Tourist season at Czech castles and chateaus delayed
The country’s castles and chateaus will not open to visitors on April 1, due to the coronavirus restrictions imposed, the National Heritage Institute, which administers over 1,000 monuments around the Czech Republic told the ctk news agency.
The institute says it is not yet clear when the tourist season will be able to start. Parks and gardens which are accessible within guided tours will also remain closed.
Last year the Czech Republic’s castles and chateaux, which traditionally attract millions of visitors, opened to the public on May 25, with a delay of almost two months. In the first weeks following the re-opening, the number of visitors was restricted and they were required to cover their face in the indoor spaces.
