Tomas Butta re-inaugurated as patriarch of Czechoslovak Hussite Church

Theologian Tomáš Butta has been sworn in for a third term as the patriarch of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday at St. Nicholas' Church on Prague’s Old Town Square.

Tomáš Butta was born in 1958 in Prague and became a priest of the Hussite Church in 1984. He was first elected in the post of the patriarch in 2006.

The Czechoslovak Hussite Church is the third largest religious institution in the Czech Republic, with about 50,000 members.
