Time capsule buried beneath Prague's Wenceslas Square tramline

Organisers of the reconstruction of Prague's upper Wenceslas Square on Wednesday buried a time capsule beneath the future tramline for generations to come. The capsule contains dozens of items, including contemporary newspapers, coins, messages, photographs, architectural plans and a cobblestone from the square's original paving.

The capsule was prepared by the Association of Prague's New Town, which has long been involved in the square's revitalisation. Construction of the new tramline began in June last year and is due to be completed in June 2027.
