Thousands without power due to Saturday night's storm

Firefighters were called out over a thousand times to deal with incidents relating to the thunderstorm that hit Czechia on Saturday evening and night, most often to secure loose tiles on rooves, remove fallen trees, and pump water out from flooded areas. The most severe storms were in Vysočína, South Bohemia, Moravia-Silesia and the Olomouc Region.

Some 30,000 customers were left without electricity in South Bohemia and Vysočina as a result of the storm. The South Bohemian Region was especially badly affected in this regard.
