Tennis: Nosková, Bouzková advance to Monterrey quarterfinals

Defending champion Linda Nosková reached the quarterfinals in Monterrey after defeating Germany’s Tatjana Maria 6-3, 6-2. Sixth-seeded Nosková will next face No. 2 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia. Fellow Czech Marie Bouzková also advanced, beating fourth-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil 6-3, 6-4. Bouzková will meet Croatia’s Antonia Ružić in the next round, with the possibility of an all-Czech semifinal.
