Temperature records broken at monitoring stations across Czechia
Temperature records for August 15 were broken at more than half of the roughly 170 Czech meteorological stations operating for at least thirty years, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute reported on Friday. Dobřichovice, near Prague, traditionally the hottest spot in the country, recorded a temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius. Sixteen stations registered at least 36 degrees Celsius. The hottest day of the year remains July 2, when temperatures exceeded 37 degrees Celsius at several locations.
