The telecommunications market regulator, the Czech Telecommunications Office, has cut the maximum interconnection fees by a third. Phone operators expect that end-user prices will drop thanks to the ruling. Competing operators charge each other interconnection fees for phone calls originating in one network and ending in another. The fees had been a matter of serious disputes between operators and eventually had to be decided by the regulator.
