Swiss President Cassis visits Czechia to discuss bilateral and EU relations
Swiss President Ignazio Cassis met with his Czech counterpart Miloš Zeman at the latter’s Lány country residency on Thursday. President Zeman said that both leaders hope that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will be resolved by a Ukrainian victory rather than a “rotten compromise”. He also praised neutral Switzerland’s decision to join EU sanctions against Russia. Both leaders said that there are very good relations between Czechia and Switzerland.
President Cassis, who is also in charge of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, is set to also meet with Czechia’s Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský later on Thursday.
