Svoboda, Nedvěd, and Vichnar to be inducted into Czech Hockey Hall of Fame
Petr Svoboda, Petr Nedvěd, and Petr Vichnar will be inducted into the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame in Prague on Monday.
Svoboda, 58, scored the golden goal in the Czech Republic's 1-0 victory over Russia in the 1998 Nagano Olympics final. After emigrating in 1984, he had a long NHL career, including a Stanley Cup win with Montreal.
Nedvěd, 52, played over 1,000 NHL games after emigrating. He won silver for Canada at the 1994 Olympics and later represented the Czech Republic, helping secure bronze in 2011 and gold as general manager this year.
Vichnar, 71, is a veteran TV commentator who has covered 16 World Championships, five Olympics, and a Hockey World Cup.
