Survey: Two thirds of Czechs worried about rising expenses
Some 59 percent of Czechs are worried about rising costs of food and housing within the next three months, according to a new survey carried out by the Ipsos agency. At the same time, the number of people concerned about high inflation is the lowest since November 2021.
The survey also shows that a fifth of Czech households do not have a financial reserve in case of unexpected expenses or loss of income. Households of single parents, people with lower incomes and those with lower education are particularly at risk.
Inflation in Czechia slowed to 15.8 percent in December from 16.2 percent in November. The average inflation rate for 2022 stood at 15.1 percent, which is the second highest figure in the country’s modern history.
