Sunday new Covid cases figure lowest since mid-December
The number of new Covid-19 cases recorded in the Czech Republic on Sunday was the lowest seen since mid-December. Some 2,373 cases of the virus were confirmed, a fall of almost 1,000 on the same day the previous week.
Czech hospitals remain under immense strain and are currently treating just over 8,000 patients with the coronavirus. Almost 2,000 of them are in a critical condition.
To date 24,810 Covid deaths have been registered in this country, with over half coming since the beginning of 2021.
