Středula re-elected head of main Czech union organisation

Josef Středula is set to stay on as head of Czechia’s biggest trade union umbrella organisation. He lost the post three weeks ago for not paying union dues but was re-elected at an extraordinary congress in Prague on Monday.

Mr. Středula, who is 56, received 64 of 112 votes, which some officials told the Czech News Agency was a weak mandate.

The Czech Confederation of Trade Unions comprises 31 unions and has a total of over a quarter of a million members.
