Stork’s Nest case nears conclusion: Final statements expected at Prague High Court
The High Court in Prague is set to hear the closing statements from the prosecutor and defense in the Stork’s Nest case involving opposition ANO party leader Andrej Babiš and his former adviser, now MEP Jana Nagyová. The case concerns an appeal against a January 2023 ruling by the Prague Municipal Court, which acquitted both defendants of fraud charges linked to a 50 million crown EU subsidy for the Stork’s Nest conference centre.
The prosecution has called on the judge to overturn the acquittal and return the case for retrial. In May, the High Court supplemented the evidence, including testimony from two additional witnesses.
Babiš maintains that he is not guilty of any wrongdoing.
