STEM: 40 pct of Czech internet users believe false info about Covid-19

Two-fifths of Czech internet users believe false information and debunked conspiracy theories about Covid-19, according to a poll of 1,400 adults by the STEM agency.

More than 50 percent believe it was created in a lab, 40 percent that the government is using the pandemic as a pretext to control the population, and 10 percent that the vaccination will be used to implant microchips.

According to STEM , 38 percent have lost faith in the government over the pandemic and about 20 percent in public service media. But more than 70 percent said they trust specialists, such as immunologists, GPs and medical staff treating Covid-19 patients.
