State budget deficit reaches CZK 168.2 billion in July
The state budget deficit reached CZK 168.2 billion at the end of July, the Czech Finance Ministry announced. This is the best result for the January–July period since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, it is still the sixth-deepest deficit in the country’s history.
The 2025 state budget envisages revenues of CZK 2.086 trillion and expenditures of CZK 2.327 trillion, projecting a total annual deficit of CZK 241 billion. Last year’s budget closed with a deficit of CZK 271.4 billion, also the best result since the pandemic began, but the fifth worst in Czech history.
