Springsteen draws crowd of over 60,000, criticises Trump in Prague concert

Thousands of fans braved the rain to attend Bruce Springsteen’s long-awaited live concert in Prague on Sunday. In a characteristically energetic performance, the 75-year old rock singer also left the audience with a political message.

On a stage decorated with a Czech and American flag, Springsteen captured the audience with platinum hits such as “Born in the USA” or “Dancing in the Dark” in a show lasting roughly 2.5 hours. He interacted with the front-row audience, sharing handshakes and hugs, and lauded the reception he received in Prague.

Springsteen, nicknamed “the Boss”, also gave the audience a political message targeting US President Donald Trump’s recent policies. He remarked to the sold out crowd in Prague’s Letňany that democracy is not a given, also in reference to Czech history.

Many fans from abroad travelled to Prague to enjoy the show. The concert, originally scheduled for last year and postponed due to the singer’s health issues, was his first performance in the Czech Republic since 2012.
