World Cup ski-jumping near Liberec hampered by bad weather
At the weekend all eyes were on Jested near Liberec, which was the venue for the latest stage of the ski-jumping World Cup. Both days events were won by the Finn, Janne Ahonen. The best of the Czechs in action were Jakub Janda and Jan Matura. Janda was an impressive ninth in Saturday's event and came 25th on Sunday. Matura, meanwhile, came 19th the first day and 20th on Sunday, when the second round was cancelled due to bad weather in the form of heavy snow and dark skies. The ski-jumper said he regretted not getting a second chance to jump."It's a pity I couldn't complete the competition but at the same time I can be satisfied with the results that I've achieved here over the two days. The fact that the weather was bad was a pity, especially for the organisers and fans. But I think I can be satisfied with my jumps."
