The Czechs had an unassailable 3-0 lead by Sunday when Davis Cup newcomer Jan Vacek dropped the only Czech point of the weekend - losing 1:6 6:7 to Flavio Saretta. Bohdan Ulihrach then finished the Brazilians off - thrashing Andre Sa 6-1 6-2 in the final match. The Czech Republic will now face France in the quarter finals.
