Yes, indeed, it's time now for the sport, and we'll start off with the latest results from international tennis tournaments and the mixture of good and bad news they have brought for Czech players.
In the Swiss indoor ATP tournament, Bohdan Ulihrach made it through to the second round where he was dispatched on Thursday after a hard slog by local boy George Bastl, 7-6 7-6. Over in Russia in the St Petersburg Open, Daniel Vacek also made it through to the second round where he was defeated fairly swiftly by Germany's Rainer Schuettler, 6-2 6-4. Heading back West again, Kveta Hrlidckova made it as far as the third round of the Luxembourg Open women's tennis tournament, where she was beaten in a marathon match by South Africa's Amanda Coetzer, 3-6 7-6 7-6.
Meanwhile, up in Sweden, Jan Vacek battled past another local boy, Magnus Gustafsson, 6-3 3-6 6-3, in the second round of the Stockholm Open, only to be beaten in straight sets in the quarter finals by Dutchman Sjeng Schalken, 6-3 7-6.

With twelve games played so far by all the teams in the first division, three Prague-based teams top the table. Sparta Prague, with ten wins and two losses, are in the lead, with 30 points, two points clear of Viktoria Zizkov, and three ahead of Bohemians Prague. All the way down at the bottom of the table, the future looks glum for Opava. With one win, one draw and ten defeats, Opava has only picked up four points so far, and will have to work extremely hard not to be relegated. There's still a long way to go, but no doubt they couldn't have imagined a poorer start to the season.
