Spolu wants to continue modernizing the army and increasing defense spending

The election program of the Spolu coalition (ODS, KDU-ČSL, and TOP 09) promises the continuation of modernizing the army, increasing defense spending by at least 0.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) annually, and the consistent promotion of Czech interests in the European Union, including maintaining the production of combustion engines. On Tuesday, representatives of the coalition presented the defense and security section of the program to journalists. The Spolu program also includes continued support for Ukraine and ensuring predictable and stable funding for security forces.
