Special mass as Prague’s St. Ludmila’s officially becomes basilica

The Church of St. Ludmila on the Prague square Naměstí míru has been officially upgraded to a basilica. The head of the Czech Roman Catholic Church, Archbishop Jan Graubner, served a special mass in connection with the change of status on Friday evening.

Pope Francis bestowed the honorary title of basilica minor on St. Ludmila’s in July. It is Prague’s fifth basilica.
