Sparta Prague qualify for Champions League after 19 years
Sparta Prague have reached the group stage of football’s Champions League for the ninth time in the club’s history and after a 19-year break. The Czech team qualified for the competition with a 2:0 home win over Sweden’s Malmö with goals by Lukáš Haraslín and Albion Rrahmani. This followed a 2:0 win in Sweden in the first leg.
Participation in the Champions League guarantees Sparta Prague over CZK 460 million.
Czechia will have a representative in the Champions League after two years, when Pilsen also made it through three preliminary rounds.
