Songwriter Jiřina Fikejzová dies aged 93

Songwriter and author of many Czechoslovak hits, such as Řekni, kde ty kytky jsou, Jiřina Fikejzová died aged 93 on Wednesday, her son Daniel Fikejz has informed the Czech News Agency. Fikejzová wrote songs for the stars of 1960s Czechoslovak pop music such as Karel Gott, Eva Pilarová, Waldemar Matuška, Václav Neckář, Marta Kubišová or Marie Rottrová.

Aside from 240 songs to her title, she also wrote several scripts for Czechoslovak Television and Radio.

Fikejzová was a musician herself in her early years, performing in a band, as well as an athlete.
