Some 100,000 people attend opening day of NATO Days in Ostrava
Around 100,000 people visited the opening day of NATO Days in Ostrava and Czech Air Force Days on Saturday, according to police. The large turnout caused traffic jams around Mošnov airfield, but organizers reported no major problems.
The event continues on Sunday, offering about eight hours of program each day. Highlights include performances by three aerobatic teams and a flyover by the U.S. B-52H Stratofortress bomber.
NATO Days are Europe’s largest security show, bringing together military, security and rescue units from 16 countries. This year’s special partner nation is Italy, presenting the AV-8B+ Harrier in a dynamic flight, the two-seat TAV-8B Harrier on static display, and ground equipment including the C1 Ariete tank and B1 Centauro tank destroyer.
