Solar power plants up by 366 percent year on year
Some 33,760 photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 288.8 megawatts (MW) were put into operation in Czechia last year, which represents a year-on-year increase by 366 percent. The average size of power plants is also gradually increasing, the Solar Association announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
However, experts say the growing number of installations is running into limits in the form of insufficient capacity of technicians and the quality of their work.
The boom in solar power was driven by domestic installations of power plants with a capacity of up to 10 kilowattpeak (kWp). The largest number of power plants, over 6,000, was installed in the Central Bohemian region.
