Social Watch: Covid pandemic deepened inequalities in Czechia

The Covid 19 pandemic has deepened inequalities in the Czech Republic and has mainly affected women, suggests the Czech branch of the NGO Social Watch, an international anti-poverty advocacy group.

In its annual report for 2020, released on Thursday, the group claims that most politicians failed in dealing with the epidemic. It also points out other issues, such as the increasing unaffordability of housing.

The group also criticizes the Czech government for failing to meet climate protection targets and development aid commitments.
