Slavia Prague invite medics to Rangers game
Slavia Prague football club have invited representatives of the country’s doctors and other health workers to attend a Europa League game against Glasgow Rangers on Thursday night. The chairman of Slavia’s board, Jaroslav Tvrdík, said the move was intended to show gratitude to medics for their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fans have been barred from attending sports events in the Czech Republic for several months but clubs can invite up to 300 guests, who must undergo Covid tests and follow hygiene guidelines at stadiums.
Slavia’s last home Europa League game, against Leicester City, received a lot of negative publicity when a number of well-known figures from politics and other fields were photographed in the VIP section.
