Sláma’s Shadow Country wins at Czech Film Critics’ Awards

Shadow Country by Bohdan Sláma was named Best Film of 2020 at the Czech Film Critics’ Awards in Prague on Saturday night. The film explores life in a village on the Czech-Austrian border in a tumultuous period in the middle of the last century. Magdaléna Borová was named Best Actress for  her part in the film.

The Best Director gong went to Poland’s Agnieszka Holland for Charlatan, whose Ivan Trojan was named Best Actor. Caught in the Net by Vít Klusák and Barbora Chaloupová was named Best Documentary.
