Skoda Kodiaq production staying in Czechia, new Superb model to be produced in Bratislava

The production of the Skoda Kodiaq SUV will remain in the Czech Republic, and will be produced in Skoda’s Kvasiny plant in the Rychnov region, the ctk news agency reports, citing credible sources close to Skoda.

The news follows speculation about a possible relocation of the SUV’s production to Germany.

The Fabia, in the combi version, will also continue to be produced in the Czech Republic while the production of a new generation of the Superb model will be moved to Bratislava, where it will be produced together with the Volkswagen Passat model.

The development of both cars will be in Mladá Boleslav.

Trade unions have severely criticized the Skoda management for the transfer of the Superb model to Bratislava, saying it did not put up a fight to keep the car maker’s flagship model  here.
