Škoda Auto boosts Q3 sales by over 15 percent

Czech carmaker Škoda Auto increased its third-quarter deliveries by 15.1 percent year-on-year to 256,300 vehicles, its parent company Volkswagen announced on Friday. Škoda recorded the third-strongest growth among all VW Group brands, behind only Bentley and MAN. Overall, the Volkswagen Group’s global deliveries rose by one percent to 2.2 million vehicles.

From January to September, Škoda’s sales climbed 14.1 percent to 765,700 cars, while group deliveries increased 1.2 percent to 6.6 million. Electric models drove much of the momentum – Škoda more than doubled its EV sales in the third quarter to 45,600 vehicles. Despite the gains, German automakers continue to face challenges from high energy costs, labor shortages, and rising Chinese competition.
