Sharp rise in new Covid cases continues

The Czech Republic registered 3,276 new cases of Covid 19 on Wednesday, which is more than double the number registered on the same day a week ago.

The number of people hospitalized with Covid has reached 726, which is the highest number since May 26. Some 58 people died over the past seven days, twice as many as for the whole month of August.

Meanwhile, the number of people getting vaccinated against Covid is also rising. Some 20,600 vaccines were administered on Wednesday, which is the highest number since September 3. Over six million Czechs are fully vaccinated at present.
