Several thousand demonstrate in Prague against mandatory vaccination

According to police estimates, around 4,000 protestors have gathered on Wenceslas Square this Sunday to demonstrate against mandatory vaccination as well as what they see as infringements against personal liberties and violations against the constitution by the government. The protest is organized by the initiative Chcípl pes, which opposes government Covid counter-measures.

Protestors plan to March through the center of prague towards the Office of Government and Prague Castle.

Police have asked those partaking in the demonstration to adhere to current Covid measures, which include social distancing and the wearing of respirators. However, the Czech News Agency reports that these are not being followed.

According to a new government decree that will become valid in March, health workers, firefighters, soldiers, members of the police and those over 60 will have to get vaccinated.
