Serbian director Goran Marković to receive award from Association of Czech Film Clubs

Serbian director and screenwriter Goran Marković will receive this year’s annual award of the Association of Czech Film Clubs (AČFK), the Czech News Agency reported on Friday. Slovak actor Martin Huba as well as Czech actors Jiřina Bohdalová and Zdeněk Svěrák will also be awarded accolades at the ongoing Summer Film School (LFŠ) in Uherské Hradiště.

Goran Marković studied at the prestigious Prague film school FAMU during the 1960s. He has since directed approximately 50 documentaries, 13 feature films, and 3 theatre plays. Summer Film School director Radana Korená told the Czech News Agency that Marković will also be receiving the award for his long-term contributions to conveying life in Serbia and his views on the world.
