Senegal releases Czech national

Senegal has released Transcon Electronic Systems sales director Ilya Mazanek after seven months in detention, Czech Foreign Ministry spokesman Daniel Drake told Czech Radio. The Senegalese authorities accused both Transcon and Mazánek, who is also chairman of the foreign section of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, of illegal financial transfers abroad and illegal import of materials and equipment. The company has denied any wrongdoing and CEO Vladimír Drábek said the misunderstanding could have been caused by a change in the Senegalese leadership.
