Senators planning to take government to court over shop closure
A group of 54 senators say they will challenge the government’s decision to close the majority of shops within the coronavirus restrictions at the Constitutional Court if the state of emergency is extended.
Senator Lukas Wagenknecht from the Pirate Party says the restriction imposed on shops was not properly justified, since it is not clear why the risk of spreading the infection is greater in a small shoe-shop that a large supermarket.
