Vaclav Fischer, the owner of the huge Fischer travel agency, has announced that he is going to sell off a large part of the company. There have been press reports that Fischer's company is having financial problems. Fischer, who is also an independent senator, says that a businessman like himself could be blackmailed by various political parties and that political attacks on him could impact on his business. Fischer, who is 47, built up the Fischer Reisen travel agency in Germany in the 1980s having left Communist Czechoslovakia. Fischer is currently discussing the sale of significant numbers of shares with several European companies. Whatever happens Fischer won't end up on the street - his loose property is estimated at 48 million marks.
