Senate Speaker Vystrčil on four-day visit to Taiwan
Czech Senate Speaker Miloš Vystrčil is on a four-day visit to Taiwan. His agenda includes meetings with representatives of the governing Democratic Progressive Party and the main opposition Kuomintang, as well as talks with President Lai Ching-te, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim, senior government officials, and representatives of the business, academic and cultural sectors.
The trip marks Vystrčil's second visit to Taiwan, following his first trip to the island in August 2020.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has openly criticized the visit, arguing that it could damage trade ties and relations with China.
