Senate speaker to hand out commemorative medals

On the occasion of the Czech Statehood Day, the Speaker of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil will present silver commemorative medals to personalities who have excelled in their field or contributed to the good reputation of the Czech Republic abroad. The awards are given to scientists, artists, sportspeople and other public figures. They are also presented individually to foreign dignitaries. Among those who received them this year were Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová, Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu and the former Ukrainian Ambassador to Prague Yevhen Perebyjnis.
