Senate president awards silver medals to outstanding personalities on St. Wenceslas Day
On the occasion of Czech Statehood Day, Senate President Miloš Vystrčil (Spolu) presented silver commemorative medals to outstanding personalities from different walks of life who excel in their field of activity.
Among the twenty laureates honoured this year were priest Ladislav Heryán, war reporter Vojtěch Boháč, actor and director Jiří Mádl, and Karel Strachota, founder of the “One World in Schools” program, and rearcher Matyáš Boháček from Stanford University who specializes in artificial intelligence.
The tradition of awarding silver medals on St. Wenceslas Day began in 2012.
