Rib of Charles I placed in Cathedral of St. Vitus
A part of the rib of last Austrian Emperor and King of Bohemia Charles I. was placed in the Imperial Chapel of the Cathedral of St. Vitus at Prague Castle on Sunday, the Czech News Agency reported on Sunday evening. The ceremony was attended by the grandson of Charles I., Charles of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.
The event took place on the 100 year anniversary of the death of Charles I, who became emperor in 1916 after the death of his predecessor Franz Joseph.
Charles I. was declared blessed by Pope John Paul II. At least some of his remains were thereafter transformed into relics in Rome.
