Repair work begins on Prague Airport’s main runway, flight routes affected
Repairs have started on the main runway at Prague’s Václav Havel Airport, with work set to last until August 15. The secondary runway, almost perpendicular to the main one, will now handle arrivals and departures, causing changes to flight routes. This may increase noise over Kladno and parts of Prague, but a planned parallel runway could help alleviate this. The construction of the parallel runway is expected to begin after 2030, following a renewed planning process.
The airport last repaired the main runway in 2022, and has also done similar work in past years, with the runway undergoing regular maintenance twice a year.
