Remembrance Sunday marked at war graves in Prague’s Olšany Cemetery

Dozens of people gathered at the Commonwealth war graves at Prague’s Olšany Cemetery on Sunday to honour those who died in war. The annual ceremony was organised by the British Embassy and attended by Czech Army Chief of Staff Miroslav Hlaváč and representatives of Commonwealth countries.

Wreaths were laid at the graves, followed by a moment of silence and prayers for fallen soldiers. The ceremony ended with the Czech and British national anthems.

Remembrance Sunday is observed in Britain and across the Commonwealth on the second Sunday of November. It honours those who served and died in armed conflicts, including civilians affected by war.
