Record number of HIV cases recorded in 2022

The number of new cases of HIV recorded in Czechia last year was the highest since 1985, when records began. There were 292 registered new cases in 2022, a rise of 59 on the year before and six more than the highest number previously, in 2016.

Over half of new HIV patients were foreigners, with a major rise in the number of Ukrainians found to have the disease.
